Tighter parts of Relo still moved fast despite a slower national backdrop
Nationally, the picture cooled. Redfin counted just 928,892 homebuyers in September, the lowest level since 2013. Redfin also reported 1,510,784 sellers, the most since March 2020. That gap matters. But it is not the whole story for Relo.
For the three months ending August 31, 2026, the Real Estate Data Aggregator measured every ZIP code in this market. Some parts stayed very tight. Others gave buyers more room. Knowing which side your street sits on changes your plan.
The national backdrop: rates and prices
Realtor.com reported that 20.8% of listings nationally took a price cut in September, the highest share since October 2022. Rates climbed above 7% for the first time since January 2025, also per Realtor.com. That is the backdrop. Now look at what the Real Estate Data Aggregator counted here.
Supply: the tightest and the loosest
Months of supply is the clearest signal of how much leverage buyers or sellers hold. Below two months, sellers tend to have the upper hand. Above four, buyers gain room.
- 1530800.8 months
- 2531290.9 months
- 3531460.9 months
- 4531861.4 months
- 5532171.4 months
- 6531541.4 months
- 7531321.5 months
- 8530051.5 months
- 9531511.5 months
- 10530721.6 months
The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted just 0.8 months of supply in ZIP 53080. That is extremely tight. ZIP 53018 sat at 5.8 months, up 3.5 months from a year before. Those two ZIPs are playing different games.
Speed: how fast homes went under contract
The share of homes going under contract within two weeks of listing is the clearest speed measure. A high share means buyers are moving fast and sellers are not waiting long.
The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 77.3% of homes in ZIP 53151 going under contract within two weeks. That is the fastest pace in this market. ZIP 53188 followed at 70.1%, and ZIP 53186 at 68.1%. Not every ZIP matched that pace. ZIP 53147 saw only 33.1% of homes move that quickly.
Price: where values rose and where they dipped
Most ZIPs saw prices rise year over year. A few dipped. The Real Estate Data Aggregator tracked both directions.
ZIP 53092 saw the median sale price rise 18.2% to $635,000, per the Real Estate Data Aggregator. ZIP 53217 rose 10.3% to $609,950. On the other side, ZIP 53024 fell 6.7% to $490,000, and ZIPs 53129 and 53018 each fell 4.9%. A dip in price does not always mean a slow market. ZIP 53129 still had just 0.9 months of supply.
Above-list sales: where competition was strongest
When more than half of homes sell above list price, buyers are competing. The Real Estate Data Aggregator found that in most Relo ZIPs, that bar was cleared.
ZIP 53186 saw 70.3% of homes sell above list price. ZIP 53151 matched that at 70.1%. ZIP 53147 was the softest at 17.6%, though its median price still rose 18.5% year over year. A rising price and a low above-list share can both be true when buyers have more time to decide.
A closer look at the tightest and loosest ZIPs
| 53080 (tightest supply) | 53018 (loosest supply) | |
|---|---|---|
| Months of supply | 0.8 | 5.8 |
| Median sale price | $449,750 | $760,000 |
| Median days on market | 48 days | 55 days |
| Above-list sales | 50% | 32% |
| Sale-to-list ratio | 101.4% | 98.5% |
ZIP 53018 had 47 homes for sale, up 123.8% from a year before. That supply surge pushed months of supply to 5.8, up 3.5 months year over year. The median price slipped 4.9% to $760,000. Sellers there are working harder. ZIP 53080 had just 6 homes for sale, down 45.5%. Buyers there had almost nothing to choose from.
The ZIP with no year-over-year comparison: 53004
The Real Estate Data Aggregator has counts for ZIP 53004 for the three months ending August 31, 2026, but no year-over-year change figures. The numbers stand on their own.
With only 10 homes sold, ZIP 53004 is a small sample. The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 20% of those homes selling above list price and a median of 51 days on market. That is a more measured pace than most of this market.
ZIP 53187: no Real Estate Data Aggregator counts available
The Real Estate Data Aggregator has no numbers for ZIP 53187. What is known about that part of the market comes from the national website sources above, not from local home counts. If you own or are considering a home there, a tailored conversation is the only way to assess it accurately.
What this means for buyers and sellers
Nationally, Redfin reported sellers outnumbered buyers by 62.6% in September. That is a meaningful shift. But the Real Estate Data Aggregator shows Relo did not move as one block. ZIP 53151 had 77.3% of homes under contract within two weeks. ZIP 53147 had 33.1%. Those two markets require different strategies.
The Federal Housing Finance Agency reported U.S. house prices rose 2.6% year over year through July. Several Relo ZIPs outpaced that. ZIP 53092 rose 18.2%. ZIP 53147 rose 18.5%. Others fell. Local results and national averages are telling different stories.
- For the three months ending August 31, 2026, the Real Estate Data Aggregator counted supply as low as 0.8 months in ZIP 53080 and as high as 5.8 months in ZIP 53018. Speed ranged from 77.3% under contract in two weeks in ZIP 53151 to 33.1% in ZIP 53147. One street can read very differently from the whole ZIP code, and one ZIP can read very differently from the national mood.
These are three-month figures ending August 31, 2026. They reflect what actually closed and what was listed in that window. A single street within any ZIP can tell a different story than the ZIP as a whole. If your home sits on a block that has seen different activity, the aggregate number will not capture it.
